Android Fantastic New Features for Holiday Season 2022
Google came up with a bundle of new Android features for this holiday season. We have listed all new Android features here. We have tested some of them and found them quite helpful. Let’s go through each one of them.

Google Photos collage new designs
You might be already aware of collage editor of Google Photos app. It helps in creating sharable collage by selecting their favourite photos. Recently Google Photos added styles to this collage editor apart from traditional one. This holiday season Google added new collage designs from two new artists DABSMYLA and Yao Cheng Design.
How to use new collage designs?
- All you need to do is update your Google Photos app
- Head to the app and select your favorite photos
- Click on Add To option and select Collage option under Create.
- Here you’ll find multiple designs. Select design you like.
- Drag and drop to rearrange and click save.
In addition to this Google also added some new Emojis as well to make the holiday messages fun-filled. Check your Gboard app.
Reading Mode
Reading Mode allow user to consume the content in their own customisable way. Let’s saying you are reading an article online and want to change the font, color, or size of text. Reading mode allow it all. You can even make the content read itself, so that you don’t have to look to the screen all the time. You can also change the voice style and speed. These feature is going to be helpful for all kind of people especially blind.
How to use Reading mode?
- Download Reading mode app from Play Store. Click here
- Open once installed, it’ll take you to accessibility screen. Turn it on.
- You get multiple option to start reading mode. Default: two finger swipe from bottom of the screen.
- Open an article online, use your shortcut to open reading mode.
Youtube Search Widget
Youtube search widget allow user to search for a video in an easy and quicker way. You don’t have to open app, directly type in your keyword in widget seach box.
How to add YouTube Search Widget?
You can add YouTube widget from home screen setting. If it’s not available in widget list then try to update YouTube app.
Google TV: One Tap to Cast
Google TV app let you find TV shows and movies from multiple streaming platforms. And it’s convenient to search on phone than on TV. Now with Google TV app you will also be able to cast to compatible TV just by one tap. All you need to do is head to the Google TV app, search what you want to watch and tap Watch on TV. You may continue to search other content while you watching on TV.
Digital Car Key
Digital Car Key allow user to lock, unlock and start their compatible cars from phone itself. It also provides option to share the Digital Car Key with your friends and family so that they can also use your car. You can also check and disable access for any person anytime from your phone’s digital wallet app. This feature is available for both Android (12+) and iOS users.
Wear OS
- New Tiles added for your favorite contacts and showing sunrise and sunset times. This will help users to plan their day accordingly.
- Google Keep App is updated as well. Now you can check your notes and todos from wearable devices. You can also customise your experience with custom background, design or photos.
- Google Assistant has also updated. Now you can control your fitness app using Google assistant.
